Maneuverable Canopy

MC-6 Parachutes

Maneuverability and Canopy Control

The Maneuverable Canopy 6 (MC-6) Personnel Parachute System provides the airborne Soldier with a new tactical static line-deployed, steerable personnel parachute, replacing the legacy MC-1 series parachute assembly, associated harness, and reserve.

The MC-6 has a lower rate of descent, lower opening shock, reduced canopy damage, better turn ratio, and a better glide ratio than the MC1-1 series parachute. These improvements result in better maneuverability, greater canopy control, reduced jumper injury, and reduced canopy damage.

Aerostar International manufactures the Maneuverable Canopy 6 (MC-6) Personnel Parachute System under license to Airborne Systems North America., Inc.  exclusively for use by the U.S. Armed Forces. The current program is a combined U.S. Army and Special Operations Command project.
