History

Vista Research is a highly innovative Research & Development company with over 30 years of experience in providing analysis and engineering solutions for government  and industry customers. Vista’s dedicated team of PhDs and Engineers supports highly classified customer programs and commercial turnkey solutions.

Foundations

Established in 1984, Vista specializes in remote sensor data analysis, modeling, signal processing and algorithm design, and has worked consistently with the Department of Defense throughout its 30 year history. Since its beginnings, Vista has added software and hardware engineering expertise, capable of developing real-time processing systems. This significant advancement complements the company’s extensive institutional knowledge base and its data analysis and algorithmic design expertise.

Growth

In 2006, Vista Research began developing a processing system to allow the real-time detection and tracking of small surface craft utilizing low cost maritime search radars. This Maritime Radar Processor (MRP) has since been deployed by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and international customers. Using a similar base technology as the MRP, the Land Radar Processor (LRP) was developed for the detection and tracking of pedestrians and vehicles over land using the same low cost maritime search radars.

Vista’s innovative processors provide low cost Wide Area Search (WAS) solutions for force protection at sea or on land, and are critical components to Vista’s Smart Sensor Radar System, a turnkey radar solution.

Value

In 2012, Vista Research was acquired by Raven Aerostar as a wholly owned subsidiary. Today, they are united by their common vision for safety and stability through innovation and highly technical products. Together, Vista and Raven Aerostar are extending their presence in the global surveillance market.

Vista Research is committed to its roots in research and development and to the continued refinement in its real time products. While continuing to improve and refine the SSRS through ever-expanding tests and analysis, Vista also continues to be involved with new and ongoing projects, analyzing data and developing new algorithm suites for solutions that solve great challenges.

"Together we will bring new innovations for detecting and tracking small objects over the land, on the water and in the air. Our solutions can replace or enhance traditional, high-cost radar systems used today." — Lon Stroschein, Raven Director of Corporate Development
