Established in 1986 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Raven Industries (NASDAQ: RAVN), Aerostar is everything Raven was at its inception in 1956: Scientific Research Balloons, Tethered Aerostats and Parachutes.
Aerostar’s engineering expertise continues to revolutionize the arenas of Tethered Aerostat Persistent Surveillance Platforms (PSS), High Altitude Balloons and Airships, Parachutes and Protective Wear. We bring technical expertise and advancements in technology into each of our products.

ethered Aerostat product line is the result of our long experience with tethered blimps and aerostats in our inflatable product line. With five different large systems, nine standard small systems and our ability and willingness for customization, we meet our customer’s mission requirements – however challenging. Proprietary, lightweight fabrics increase lift capabilities while decreasing the aerostat size. These tethered aerostat systems can be tailored to meet any challenging operational environment.
Aerostar International, Inc. was awarded in 2010 for its outstanding service, unwavering commitment and tireless dedication as a supplier of vital tethered aerostats, currently being used for force protection under Operation Enduring Freedom.
